Shooting ‘Having You’ on Southsea seafront

Eagle-eyed celeb-spotters might have caught a glimpse of actress Anna Friel shooting our new feature ‘Having You‘ on Southsea seafront recently.

The former Brookside actress joined Atonement’s Romola Garai and Garrow’s Law leading man Andrew Buchan in filming the new British film. Portsmouth was chosen after the production team decided it was exactly the kind of seaside location they needed.

Producer Oliver Roskill said they had received help from the city council and the directors of the pier. He said, “We were looking for a pier and an amusement arcade. I have actually never shot in Portsmouth before, but it has been great. One of our managers knew some people here and we thought it would be just what we wanted. Although the film’s location isn’t made too specific in the film we do make references to Southsea.”

Roskill continues, “The part was written for Anna, so we got the script to her and she said yes. All the people working on the film really believe in it. We have a wonderful crew who are all working for much less than they should normally get – and that goes for the actors as well.”
