Shooting 'Having You' on Southsea seafront

Eagle-eyed celeb-spotters might have caught a glimpse of actress Anna Friel shooting our new feature ‘Having You‘ on Southsea seafront recently.

The former Brookside actress joined Atonement’s Romola Garai and Garrow’s Law leading man Andrew Buchan in filming the new British film. Portsmouth was chosen after the production team decided it was exactly the kind of seaside location they needed.

Producer Oliver Roskill said they had received help from the city council and the directors of the pier. He said, “We were looking for a pier and an amusement arcade. I have actually never shot in Portsmouth before, but it has been great. One of our managers knew some people here and we thought it would be just what we wanted. Although the film’s location isn’t made too specific in the film we do make references to Southsea.”

Roskill continues, “The part was written for Anna, so we got the script to her and she said yes. All the people working on the film really believe in it. We have a wonderful crew who are all working for much less than they should normally get – and that goes for the actors as well.”

‘Walk Like A Panther’ Writer/Director Dan Cadan and cast members Steve Furst, Stephen Marcus and Sean Pertwee talk to XFM’s Gordon Smart about the new British wrestling comedy/drama TV series ‘Walk Like A Panther’.

Set in Yorkshire, 22 years after the plug was pulled on British wrestling on TV, a band of brothers will squeeze into their leotards for one final rumble. Dealing with the highs and lows of everyday life through the boston crab and the half nelson, the wrestlers will find themselves, one another and they will never say die.

Vikki Stone

Finite Funnies produced vid “The Phillip Schofield Song” has gone viral and is a big hit! We uploaded the vid, penned and performed by the marvellous Vikki Stone, on Wednesday and had thousands of hits within hours.

After watching it, the silver fox himself tweeted “Now I’ve seen everything! Vikki Stone you are bonkers and I am very flattered. Thank you! xxx”.

Vikki said of the song ”I wrote the song for my 2011 Edinburgh show ‘Big Neon Letters’ – a show about my life so far. Phillip Schofield has been a life-long crush for me, since the Going Live days through ‘Joseph’ and now This Morning, Dancing On Ice and The Cube. And so it was obvious to me that he should feature in the show.”

Idris Elba

Idris Elba talks to XFM’s Gordon Smart about putting on his producer hat again… this time for a new British comedy/drama TV series ‘Walk Like A Panther’ centered on the world of wrestling in the 1980s.

The new series will star Tom Meighan and Stephen Graham, although Elba’s involvement will strictly be behind the scenes as executive producer, stating “I’ve come on board as an executive producer to take the Panthers to the next level. These boys are like family to me, so it’s an honour.”
